Joel 3:9-10  Proclaim this among the     nations: “Prepare for war! Wake up the mighty men, Let all the men of war draw near…. Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’”

 

I. WE ARE IN A WORLD WAR

· The war first began between God & Satan

· Satan has been cast out of heaven

· But Satan now fights his war on earth against God’s people

 

II.  WE MUST BECOME GOOD SOLDIERS OF CHRIST

 

1) Gain undivided hearts to serve God 

 

Ps.86:11 - Teach me your way, O LORD, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.

 

2) Become Disciplined Soldiers

 

2 Tim.2:3 - Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.

 

3) Learn to obey orders and work     together as an army

 

4) Gain victory over the little enemies before we fight the big enemies

1 Sam.17:33-37 - Saul replied, "You are not able to go out against this Philistine and fight him; you are only a boy, and he has been a fighting man from his youth." But David said to Saul, "Your servant has been keeping his father's sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, I went after it, struck it and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it and killed it. Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God. The LORD who delivered me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine." Saul said to David, "Go, and the LORD be with you."

 

5) Be vigilant against the devil

 

1 Pet.5:8-9 - Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to     devour.  Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

 

6) Be fully committed

    2 Tim. 2:4
